TRI Expert Thinks “Timing is Everything”

by Thane Carios

(Outpost Station) Carlo Adiar is saying that “timing is everything” for the current hive-destruction mission. Adiar is the TRI-DEF Assistant Director for Conflux Studies and was part of the team calling for this mission. “We still can’t determine exactly what is going on, but we do know one thing for sure:  there is some very strange EM coming out of those five sectors — and there are five hives in each of those sectors. That’s not normal. The hives have to be connected to all of this.” Continue reading

hives(Amananth) An analysis of the recent series of missions has ultimately pointed to Hives in Conflux Space sectors: First Sight, C-3309, C-1101, C-1102, and C-2199 as the reason for recent asteroid cooling problems.  Pilots are currently being directed to destroy these hives quickly and to ensure they do not re-spawn.

Additional details will be provided as they become available.

The (Unregulated) Update

unregulated-updateVol. II, No. 8 – by Ares Kiden

What is Going On?

There have been many many missions relating to the non-cooling asteroids, but we have heard results from exactly ONE.  Is there some kind of secret agenda happening here?  Or is everyone too embarrassed to admit that after all is said and done, they still have no idea what is causing the “high entropy state” in the asteroids?  There’s been a bit of frustration building in the jump pilot community and I’m pretty sure much of it could be resolved with just a little bit of communication. TRI Research & Development Calls for Beacon Cooperation

by Thane Carios

(Outpost Station)  TRI Corporation’s Dr. Zhia Katdinal today called for pilots and factions alike to cooperate to help solve the ongoing mystery on why asteroids are not cooling after being mined.

“The only actionable information we have so far has come from Quantar, and they used specially-tuned beacons to get it,” said Katdinal.  “They discovered that something is causing the asteroids, once heated by mining, to remain in a high-entropy state.  We have yet to determine what that something is.”160811_155441

“We need more data from beacons – a LOT more.  But the key is that we need the data to be as consistent as possible, so we can only use data taken from beacons tuned to ONE factional frequency.  In other words, we need the beacons to be the same color.” Continue reading

Miners Days Contest Winners

by Yaz Shanndar

(Quantar Core) Although the asteroid cooling problem seemed to overshadow this year’s holiday, there were a couple of activities.

The first one was an opportunity for pilots to vote for a new Quantar award — the Shahir Assad or “Shining Lion.”  The award is for lifetime achievements in service of Quantar.  Shahir Assad - medal1031As with the Solrain Hall of Fame, the voting ended in a tie between Tezrend and Ambrosius, so a randomized choice was made — and the winner was Tezrend (aka Tesrend)!  Votes were also received for tom-t and the late FS-Falcon.

The other holiday contest was QuanTrivia where there were four entrants getting all five answers correct and winning a Cesium Medal, a CM4 and 1 million credits!  Congratulations to the winners:  Hammer-BS, Gander, ML-Death and Clanlord!

The awarding of medals and prizes should be completed over the next few days. Continue reading
