Octavius Wraps Up Uneventful Holiday

(Outpost Station)  The festivities are over, most of the celebrants have regained sobriety, the maintenance crews have finished putting Outpost Station back in order and through it all there was little news, issues or fanfare about the latest Feast of the Fallen 117 holiday.

This years highlight was Emperor Cineon’s appearance in Outpost sector to do the Recitation of Heroes.  Although it would not seem notable, Cineon’s Recitation was interrupted by a Sentient Conflux attack in 114 and Clements IV was assassinated as he was beginning his recitation in 115. Last year Emperor Septus decided that the better part of valor was discretion, and did his Recitation from the Palace Grounds on Martius.

Octavius Prepares for a Holiday

(Cinatus) Octavius Outpost station will be the center of this year’s Feast of the Fallen holiday, which runs from 117.5.26 through 117.5.28 with Emperor Cineon I presiding over the annual three-day celebration.  Cineon last presided over the holiday in 114.  Just a year later, the holiday was devastated by the assassination of Clements IV as he began the Recitation of Heroes.  Last year’s event, led by Emperor Atticus Septus, was somewhat muted with most of the official festivities dirtside on Martius.

Although this year’s space-based activities will continue to be fairly limited, Cineon has insisted on holding  the Recitation of Heroes out in space once again.

Day of Remembering – 117.5.26

At 18:00 UTC Emperor Cineon will lead the Recitation of Heroes, where the name of an Octavius warrior or hero from the past is called out aloud and the hero’s accomplishments and victories are recalled. Cineon has asked the citizens of Octavius to submit their own remembrances for him to read publicly.

“The Bleeding Skies” — All Octavius is called upon to tune beacons RED across Octavius — and throughout all space — for the entire day.

Members of the lesser factions are welcome to challenge those actions.

Quantar Celebrates Drone Destruction

(Quantar Core)  While Hyperial has remained stone-silent, Quantar has been openly celebrating the destruction of the Rauder-1 drone jump-ship.  The Holy Office of the Tahirs has just released the following statement:

Farishaba ‘at Hamalzah!  Today we honor Valmagier, a highly-decorated Solrain Optimus, who successfully destroyed the Hyperial drone jump-ship Rauder-1 in Inner Cloud.  Admittedly he struggled with the decision whether to destroy this ship or to report its location to our enemy.  But Hamalzah was good and led our brother Hammer-BS to the location as well — which crystallized the decision for Valmagier.

For his efforts, Valmagier will receive the highest award we give to otherworlders — Quantar’s Flame.  We hope he wears this as proudly as he wears his many other commendations.  In addition, Valmagier will received the promised rewards of 20 millions credits and a CM-4 . . . as well as out most sincere thanks and deepest blessings.

And we would be remiss if we did not recognize Hammer-BS for his part in this as well.  He is a loyal brother who works tirelessly for the good of Quantar … and for all.  It was his presence that was ultimately the catalyst for the destruction of Rauder-1.  Therefore, we are honored to present him with the Quantar’s Flame medal as well.  Shalim, Brother!

 

Drone Down!

(Klatsches Hold)  The saga of the Rauder-1 drone came to an abrupt end yesterday around 17:00 GMT when pilots Valmagier and Hammer-BS located the drone in Inner Cloud sector.

“I was not really looking for the drone at first,” said Valmagier.  “I had business to do in Hyperial and flew through Inner Cloud, when I first saw a transmission from the drone. There were no conflux [spawns], which was surprising, because Inner Cloud has an anomaly. But I thougth someone else is searching for the drone, so I finished first my business and flew back to my Pos in Greater Locks to resupply it.”

Apparently Valmagier and Hammer-BS independently found Rauder-1 adrift far out in Inner Cloud.  “I first was making some pictures, because I had not decided, if I will destroy it or if I will tell Hyperial the coordinates and leave it there. Then I saw Hammer-BS approaching and my decision was easy, I had to destroy it first, if I want to get the reward. Hammer and I were both shooting on the drone, but I was lucky to get the kill,” said Valmagier.

Hyperial has not yet made an official comment on the incident.

 

Emperor Looks for Citizen Participation in Recitation of Heroes

(Outpost Station)  Emperor Cineon today asked for more citizen participation in the official Recitation of Heroes ceremony to be held on 117.5.26.  The Recitation of Heroes is that is the highlight of the first day of the Octavius Feast of the Fallen holidays, where the names of former “heroes” of Octavius are called out publicly, sometimes with a brief remembrance.

“Some of these heroes passed to the Halls long ago,” said Governor Zenobia Zavera, who will help host this year’s holiday.  “Others are retired, and other are long lost – but we still hope for their return,” she added.

Hyperial Responds to Quantar Call

The Hyperial Government has been pursuing an obviously-secretive agenda since before the beginning of the year.  There have been Faction Missions with no explanation for their purpose.  Then suddenly they announce they have developed a drone jump-ship.  History has demonstrated that no good could possibly come of this.

Now Hyperial has asked everyone to help search for their drone and has offered a reward for assistance.  Quantar, too will as for assistance — both from its own pilot population and any others who would want to join.  We call for the destruction of the Rauder-1 drone, and will happily offer:

• 20 million credits

New Quantar Movement Surfaces

(Corridor Station) A new Quantar movement has recently surfaced, calling themselves Paths. These individuals, who are primarily young and who (for the most part) are not jump-pilots, call for the renunciation of the central government and a return to tribal rule. They are united by the fundamental belief that Quantar destiny lies among the stars, and that “the Skein” (their term for space) itself will guide the thoughts of any pilot who learns to listen.

Members of the movement can usually be identified by a tattoo resembling a stylized version of the Quantar national symbol. Despite the fact that most Paths have not yet qualified for genetic alteration, they still prefer space to a planet-bound life, with many living in communal habitats built near rich asteroid fields in planetary sectors, where they live fairly isolated lives.

Quantar estimates that there are no more than 1,000 Paths at this time, and they are not considered a significant social or political movement.

With No Sightings During Patrol Mission, Hyperial Calls for All-Out Search

(Hyperial) After the recent Faction Mission to patrol Far Gate, T&P, Inner Cloud, Main Gate and The Reaches yielded no sightings of Rauder-1, Hyperial has now called for pilots to do more extensive sector searches.

“We have no idea how many of the mission pilots made any attempt to actually search.  It was probably a mistake for us NOT to include additional awards for the first sighting.  So now we’re going to remedy that,” said Dr. Viggio Ragne, Special Representative for the Office of the President.

Hyperial Releases Info on Drone and Calls for Mission

(UUNN HQ) Hyperial today has finally provided some details regarding its Rauder-1 drone ship that has been broadcasting hex code on pilot channels over the last week.

We have run into some issues with our Rauder-1 testing program.  One of the biggest challenges in this project is maintaining the datalink with the drone.  The systems initially built by TRI were designed to handle pilot communications, but the amount of data transfer needed to remotely control a ship over large distances is quite a different matter.

We lost contact with Rauder-1 in Outer Cloud when it was returning from a test flight.  We believe the gibberish code it is broadcasting is related to its malfunction.

We are initiating a Faction Mission to patrol several sectors.  We encourage pilots to run these missions with 50K radars.  If there are ANY sightings of the Rauder-1, please report it immediately to hyperial@tri-subspace.net
