Conflux Claim Quantar

From the TRINN Archives

By Zoe Vexel

(Quantar Core)  A lone C-8S Scout traveled through Quantar space last night, in what can only be characterized as a scouting mission of sorts. The C-8S entered Quantar space through the anomaly in the Outer Third sector. From there, it traveled to Callow’s Passage where it began circling and firing on the Subspace Transceiver. Pilot Reece was the first pilot to respond, but was chased off by drones to TriPoint Station. As the C-8S traveled, it seemed to drop infestations in a strategic pattern, apparently to make it more difficult for the pilots in pursuit to keep pace. There were several reports of pilots being trapped by the infestations. The Conflux scout, after it?s encounter with the Subspace Transceiver, headed toward Quantar Core, where it proceeded to the Glaive Custom Producer. After this, the C-8S completed its flight through Quantar space, returning to the Outer Third sector, where it appeared to leave through the same anomaly.

TRI-CSD released the following statement regarding last night’s raid:

“The conflux are up to something. The reports of the activities last night are very similar to the reports we received from a similar flight through Solrain space earlier. This is a troubling development. The conflux have an interest in our Subspace Transceivers, which could cripple our communications, and I shudder to consider the loss of a nuclear missile CP. All pilots are advised to use extreme caution, as the conflux are becoming more active. Also, it is encouraged that all pilots work on improving the stockpiles of nuclear missiles in all stations.

There were questions raised during last night’s raid as to the warning from the CLAWS array. We anticipate having both arrays online and fully operational within 48 hours. I would remind everyone that the Pulsar array was severely damaged, and while we were able to save the Aman Leap array from that same damage by taking it offline, there was damage to the transmitter, which has delayed its return to active service.”

Octavian Miners Get Depot

From the TRINN Archives

By Rafel Solamis

(Octavius Core)  Today, the Octavian Empire surprised everyone by announcing their intent to build an Ore Depot in Primus Point. In an unusual conference, all three Emperors of Octavius, led by Clements IV, offered the following statement:

“While we are loathe to embrace mining in any form, we are not willing to cast off those loyal Octavians who enjoy this work. We have been reviewing our current production capabilities, and in meeting with representatives of Octave Propulsion Labs, Octavius’ largest employer, Dorator, and Annihiltech, we are finding that, while we do not have problems at this time, we risk production difficulties should our current peace dissolve. We must ensure we are able to sustain our production levels, lest we become vulnerable to outside forces.”

Deregulation Pays Dividends

From the TRINN Archives

By Rafel Solamis

(Lexxor H.Q.)  Mnr Ozajar, Lexxor Intelligence spokesperson, released the following statement today:

“Today, the deregulation that TRI has undertaken begins to pay off. Lexxor has completed work on a new technology for the pilots of TRI. The Jammer, from Lexxor Intelligence, will revolutionize combat. This technology allows pilots to jam the guidance system of incoming missiles, presenting a “false target” for the missile to chase, allowing the pilot to escape. TRI Insurance feels so strongly that this will help to reduce claims that they have underwritten some of the R&D costs of this project. The deregulation we recently have undergone also helps us get this to market quicker, as it enables us to work with TRI to construct the Custom Producer. I hope this serves to quell those who question the wisdom of the deregulation of the corporations of TRI.”

Sentients Scout Solrain Space

From the TRINN Archives

By Zoe Vexel

(TRI-HQ )  An early morning raid on 104.08.22 occurred in Solrain space. A lone C-8S was seen exploring Solrain space. Sensor logs show that the C-8S spent considerable time in the Narrow Canal sector, before continuing on throughout Solrain space, finally ending at Wake station where it spent considerable time circling the Sabre Custom Producer. The C-8S was engaged and dispatched by pilot’s dahalb and Drperky. The C-8S laid a few infests, seemingly to serve as a distraction to the pilots. Pilots are warned to be vigilant, as this could serve as a portent of things to come.

TRINN personnel apologize for the lack of a timely release of this story. Due to a failure of our mainframe systems, we have been unable to process our news items. We believe we have this problem corrected.

Sentient Biomass Recovered

From the TRINN Archives

By Alexa A’vros

TRI-HQ (TRI-FP) – TRI-Conflux Studies Division (TRI-CSD) personnel are celebrating pilot Reece this evening, as he successfully recovered two units of Biomass from a Sentient Conflux. “This is a great day for our efforts against the Conflux menace” said Dr. Aulus Calatorius, Director of TRI-CSD. “This will give us interesting insight into the differences between sentient and drone conflux. Given the reports of dramatically increased hostility shown to Reece from the Sentients, we would advise Reece to use extreme caution. We do not know the level of their memory, or the full depth of their sentience. We are curious to see if the Conflux in general, and Sentients in specific will show a greater hostility toward us in light of our successful extraction of their biomass.”

Pilot Reece has been awarded the Defender of the Barrier medal for his valiant efforts in securing this vital look into the vicious Sentient Conflux.

Pulsar Array Repaired

From the TRINN Archives

By Zoe Vexel

(TRI-HQ)  Last night, in a flurry of activity, pilots from all factions banded together in defense of the Conflux menace. Twenty-four pilots, in addition to TRI Enforcer “Smoke” served as the defensive fleet for the TRI-CSD repair team. The mission of this second repair team was to repair the array, and recover their fallen comrades from the heinous Conflux attack on 104.08.18. The team was successful on both fronts. “It was ugly in there” offered Cmd. Pederson of TRI-CSD repair team Delta. ‘We had the scans from the recon mission, so we were able to get in and get out, but it looked like repair team Bravo was successful in rerouting the surge to the on-board capacitors. The capacitors were simply unable to withstand that level of charge, so they exploded. We were, however, able to recover all ten men. No one was left behind, thanks to the efforts of our escort.”

Repeated waves of Conflux attacked the convoy en route to the Pulsar array. Reports of Stingrays were heard throughout the circuitous trek to Pulsar. There were also numerous reports of infestations and C-8S Conflux that seemed to run as scouts. Upon arrival in Pulsar, a massive swarm of drones engaged the armada, with minimal losses. Only one appearance of the C-10S that initially damaged the array was reported.

Dr. Calatorius added “I would like to thank those brave pilots of TRI who gave of themselves for the greater good. I have forwarded a full roster from last night’s mission to TRI-RMD for medals that were more than earned. I again offer my deepest thanks to all the pilots who flew last night and aided in our recovery effort.” When asked of the current condition of the arrays, Dr. Calatorius said that the Pulsar array is running at reduced power. “It takes about 72 hours to fully restore operations after a critical shutdown.” Dr. Calatorius also said that after the Pulsar array is online, the Aman Leap array would be inspected and restored to operation as well.

TRI-RMD released the names of the pilots receiving Tache’s Crest for their valiant efforts in the defense of TRI: Reece, SpaceDrake, Osprey, Paktu, Mike21, TheRag, Achilles, FS
Panther, Dr-McManus, RaiderOne, K-Spar, Solarwind, WingMan, Blackwidow, C-note, nighthawk1, LupinOne, TrashGordn, spork, Topaz, Peregrine, purge, Xenobe, and Hrafn. Pilot Reece will also receive Samon’s Legacy for his assistance to TRI-Research in delivering two units of Sentient Conflux Biomass. Lastly, pilot SpaceDrake will receive the Traveler’s Choice medal for his escort duties. When pressed on this award, TRI-RMD Director Echo Tetsab stated “pilot SpaceDrake remained with the shuttle for the entire duration of the required escort period. This is not to disparage those pilots who fought off the conflux in their wake, but to offer SpaceDrake something for passing on that bounty to see the job through. Plus, we never get to award this one anymore.”

Repair Team Lost

From the TRINN Archives

By Zoe Vexel

(TRI-HQ)  Just past midnight this morning, a recon team, lead by Captain Tyrn of TRI-CSD, and escorted by TRI pilots, headed to Pulsar, to inspect the CLAWS array, and attempt to rescue any survivors of the latest attack. The team performed short-range and deep scans of the array, unable to restore power to unlock system access. There were no life signs read aboard the array. Dr. Calatorius released this brief statement:

“The report of our recon team is not encouraging. It follows what we picked up from our deep space scans of Pulsar. Our repair team is preparing for their mission tonight, to repair the array, and recover our fallen team. Again, all pilots willing to assist in tonight’s mission are asked to be at Solrain Core by 20:00 Ekoo to serve as escort. Pilots are also encouraged to work to secure Pulsar sector, as we will need time to work.

Finally, I would like to personally thank the pilots who rallied this morning to serve as escort to our recon team. SpaceDrake, Dr-McManus, InterOrka, FS_ Panther, OgreJG, NeSs, and RaiderOne, you are all a credit to your factions, and to TRI. I thank you for your service.”

Sentients Attack, Repair Team MIA

From the TRINN Archives

By Zoe Vexel

(TRI-HQ)  A lone C-10S again attacked TRI space, with an unexpected attack on the CLAWS array in Aman Leap. As with last night?s attack, there is no physical damage to the array. TRI-CSD personnel were alerted by the internal array processor to the energy fluctuations, and manually disabled the array after it was evident that there was a power issue, as was seen in last night?s attack. “We can only hope that by powering down the array we were able to save it from critical damage” said Dr. Calatorius, Director of the Conflux Studies Division.

“Of greater concern to us is that after the array was powered down, the repair team at the Pulsar array had repaired the array, and in testing, began a low-scale power up of the basic control systems. The C-10S seemed to somehow acknowledge that, as it proceeded from Aman Leap to Pulsar where it again began assaulting the Pulsar array. We lost contact with the repair team around 2130 Ekoo, and their final transmission is not encouraging. They reported they were attempting to relieve the power surges by a jettison of the internal reactor, attempting to use the capacitors as a storage system. Long-range scans are not encouraging. No reactor core has been located.

We require assistance from the pilots of TRI. We intend to leave the arrays powered down until we are able to better understand how the conflux is able to detect their operation. Also, we will not lose more men. We would like the pilots of TRI to serve as escort for us to send a team to the Pulsar array to determine the nature of the damage, and what has happened to our own. We intend to leave from Solrain Core station at approximately 2000 Ekoo. Your assistance is appreciated. We must be vigilant!!”

TRI Challenges Status Quo

From the TRINN Archives

By Rafel Solamis

(TRI-HQ)  Dorakk Thol, the Chief of the Bureau of Trade Regulation (TRI-BTR) made an unexpected announcement yesterday. TRI intends to begin limited deregulations of the corporations of TRI. This will have an interesting impact on the pilots of TRI, as competitive forces will be permitted to take over, to a degree.

“Since TRI had been founded, it has operated in a strict regulatory fashion. This served the member factions of TRI, as well as the corporations themselves. While there has always been competition, it has been over-arched with the need for stability. The TRI of today is not the same as the TRI of our fathers. TRI has become over-regulatory, and the member factions feel that this excessive control is a threat to continued stability. Without some deregulation, we fear that we will face a chaotic upheaval within the member factions. As we have seen more and more in recent months, the existing factional trade policies are being cast off for renegotiation.

Effective 104.08.20, TRI-BTR will begin deregulation of the corporations of TRI, and consequently, the member factions as well. While TRI must maintain some control in order to ensure the continued defense of TRI space and the safety of her members, we will no longer strictly oversee the daily operations of TRI member factions, and their producers. We realize this will likely create a period of limited chaos, as the markets will adjust to these new methods of operations, and there could be factions issues with this deregulation, we cannot ignore the lobby which has presented this option.”

CLAWS Array Attacked

From the TRINN Archives

By Zoe Vexel

(Pulsar Sector) Last night, a lone C-10S Eel attacked the CLAWS array in Pulsar. TRI-CSD is still unable to restore full functionality to the array. Based on pilot reports and sensor logs, the C-10S was unusual in that it was able to maintain an almost constant discharge of its plasma weaponry. Dr. Calatorius had this to say:

“The C-10S that attacked the CLAWS array was a very unusual being. As most pilots are aware, all Conflux that have been encountered to date are unable to maintain a high-level discharge over an extended period. We have always believed that was due to the fact that their weaponry is organic in nature. With what was experienced last night, this could portent an evolutionary development in the Conflux.

The CLAWS array is shielded from Conflux attack, as our TRI stations are. As near as we can surmise, the problem in restarting the array is not due to physical damage as you would think, but it is due to the high level of plasma energy that seems to have overloaded the array.

Also experienced was infestations. This is something that has been noticeably absent in recent attacks. After a review of the nuclear stockpiles we have, we are extremely concerned at our vulnerability in this avenue. TRI-CSD encourages the haulers of TRI to begin work on rebuilding our stockpiles, and ensuring that they are distributed in the most strategic manner. I fear the quiet period we experienced was not the end, rather the beginning.”
