(Outpost Station) Carlo Adiar is saying that “timing is everything” for the current hive-destruction mission. Adiar is the TRI-DEF Assistant Director for Conflux Studies and was part of the team calling for this mission. “We still can’t determine exactly what is going on, but we do know one thing for sure: there is some very strange EM coming out of those five sectors — and there are five hives in each of those sectors. That’s not normal. The hives have to be connected to all of this.” Continue reading →
(Outpost Station) Infestations have been popping up across space with increased frequency over the past couple of weeks — with some of them seeming impregnable. What make this current flurry even more unusual is that there have been no reports of sentient conflux seeding or defending the infestations.
“Something is definitely going on here,” said Carlo Adiar, the head of Conflux Studies for TRI-DEF (TRI Corporation, Defense & Security Division). “And it’s not good. We’re seeing infestations on the increase and nuke stocks on the decrease. Pilots better get after this quickly or we’re going to have a problem.” Continue reading →
(GBS Station) After TRI Corp. initially announced that it believed its TRI-TRAN-1 automated transport ship had probably been destroyed by storms or Conflux, pilot RazorsKisspublicly claimed that he had destroyed the ship and its cargo — as revenge for an alleged “hit” put on him by TRI Asst. Director of Conflux Studies (TRI-DEF-CSD), Carlo Adiar.
“This pilot needs to be punished — severely,” said TRI Corporation CEO, Garth Taren. “First of all, his rationale is ridiculous. It’s either a lie or a delusion. I’d love to see the ‘intelligence’ produced that implicates Mr. Adiar.”
“I have no idea what the real motivation was here, but the load of gold and platinum lost, while very valuable, was not the real loss here. We lost 25 antiflux that we had been able to retrieve from the old Conflux Containment Center (CCC) facility in Inner Aman. They were destined for public markets to help alleviate the shortage. And the most tragic loss was a data disk containing invaluable, irreplaceable conflux data — which we also recovered from the CCC facility.”
“We have contacted Solrain, Octavius and Quantar to discuss possible political implications, since the actions of this pilot have broad cross-factional impacts.”
(Solrain Core) As pilots squabble over Antiflux inventories, the prices at public stations have continued to climb to record levels – selling for approximately 250% more than they were just two weeks ago.
“Markets panic, that’s just what they do,” said Ferrix Charyb, the STCC Minister of Trade. “We’ve seen some people grabbing for these rare ECMs, and today, as I look at the market, it appears that the ones that disappeared from Hyperial a few days ago have now re-appeared at Solrain Core – clearly at a very significant profit. (UUNN HQ) After corroborated pilot reports that a TRI-Enforcer-type ship was involved in an attack on the convoy transporting engineers to Amananth, Dominic Serus, Vice President of TRI-DEF (TRI Defense & Security), released the following statement.
TRI Corporation was in no way involved in last evening’s attack in Amananth. Two of our engineers were on the Tow that was attacked. As we have said in the past when there were alleged sightings of TRI Enforcers doing questionable things — we have just two ships remaining in our security fleet: TRI-SEC-1 and TRI-SEC-2. There are no others.
In the past we had dismissed the Enforcer-sighting pretty much out of hand since we knew it was not our ships. But now, with multiple reports from highly respected pilots, we must admit that — somehow — someone either managed to salvage one of the ships from the old TRI fleet . . . or has managed to copy the design. Neither is a very comfortable realization.
Although there are confirmed reports that the Enforcer with transponder code 303031 was destroyed, there is no guarantee that whoever is behind this may not have additional Enforcer hulls available.
We will be increasing patrols with TRI-SEC-1 and TRI-SEC-2. Any sightings of any other TRI-Enforcer “style” ships should be reported immediately.
(Evenings End) TRI Corp. announced today that it plans to set up an observation outpost at Evenings End station from which it can monitor Dark Crossroads sector.
“At least in the short-term, we want to be able to have regular monitoring of the DX anomaly, as well as be able to respond quickly should another incursion occur there,” said TRI-DEF Director Dominic Serus. “Pilots are still reporting abnormal spawns in that sector, so who knows what might go on there. We hope to begin construction within the next few days.”
(TRI-HQ) TRI Defense (TRI-DEF) has just issued a warning indicating that the TRI Defense Condition has been raised to level 3. Pilots should be on heightened alert for sentient conflux attacks. All pilots are requested to tune TRI beacons, and provide extra patrols around sectors known for high levels of conflux activity.
