Protester Dies in QC Explosion

UUNN Newswire

 * * * * * BREAKING NEWS * * * * *

(UUNN HQ) In the midst of the controversy over the growing nuclear missile stockpiles, an explosion was reported in Quantar Core sector causing panic and a brief lock-down on the station.

Station Governor Delphia Neamru released the following statement:

Today at approximately 19:00 UTC, there was an explosion outside Quantar Core Station.  The reports are that one of the individuals protesting nuclear stockpiles apparently rented an orbital shuttle and loaded four nuclear missiles into its cargo.  Shortly after launch, the missiles detonated.  It is unclear whether this was intentional or an accident.  Unfortunately, orbital shuttles do not have LifePod(tm) escape pods.

Other than the unfortunate death of the shuttle pilot, the only other damage was to the Chinook Naval Yard.  The damage is slight and should be repaired shortly

Rumours Tie Nuke Buildup to Conflux Plot

by Thane Carios

(Quantar Core Station)  Allegedly started by KTRI News Announcements, rumours ran wild across space today suggesting that the current buildup of the nuclear arsenals at all stations was actually driven by a Conflux-backed plot to simultaneously detonate the nuke inventories, inflicting horrific damage and casualties at all stations.

sabreglaivemaulProtests on Quantar Core called for the immediate removal of all nuclear missiles to off-station storage facilities and a temporary end to all production.  Quantar Qashish Nost’avor, leader of the Hamalzah’din Path said, “I call on the Tahirs to address this threat immediately.  There are currently over 1,000 nuclear missiles on four Quantar stations.  There is just no need for that kind of concentration of weapons of mass destruction.  I’m all for stockpiling the supplies for when we need to build them.  Just produce them as we need them.  And we don’t need thousands.” Continue reading

TRI Reports System Problems

UUNN Newswire

(UUNN HQ) TRI Information Systems (TRIIS) has reported that some of its databases have been corrupted:

tri_logoYesterday (119.3.22) at about 15:50 UTC, we experienced a significant failure in our reporting systems databases. Systems Engineers are currently working to rectify the problem, but due to the extent of the issues it may take 24 to 48 hours before this is corrected.  We need to restore backups and determine the source of the failure before systems can be fully brought back online.

This failure impacts only our our Flight Duty Reporting and Market systems.  All station, launch and jumpgate systems are operating nominally.

We apologize for this inconvenience.

 ***** UPDATE *****

This issue has been corrected but pilots are asked to monitor the Beacons Held and Pure Asteroid Mined counters.  Please report any irregularities to tri@tri-subspace.net

Powerful “Path” Blocks Awards

by Yaz Shanndar

(Quantar Core)  The rapidly-expanding Hamalzah’din Path within Quantar allegedly tested its political muscles recently when its leader Qashish Nost’avor allegedly threatened a call for elections if the Tahirs decided to endorse or reward the recent vigilante actions against Hyperial that resulted in the destruction of the Phosphorous Nanoproducer — which had allegedly housed a secret GenMod before it was attacked and put out of commission in 117.

“We have no illusions about what the Hyperial are,” said Qashish Nost’avor,” but we also need to remember who we are.  Our leaders have led us astray and many have lost their way.  We must look inward — not outward — to discern Hamalzah’s will.”

“This all started when a Hyperial supporter came into our space, tuned our unattended beacons and destroyed our building.  Where were our Lions then?” he added. Continue reading

The (Unregulated) Update

unregulated-updateVol. III, No. 5 – by Ares Kiden

This issue has turned out to be *** The Hyperial Issue *** … because, well, I guess the rest of the factions are just pretty boring!

Hyperial Building Destroyed

It started with a series of explosions at the already-damaged Phosphorous Nanoproducer that began on the late Dr. Kelvin Rauder’s birthday.  Then a pilots decided to repair that producer — and that sparked a see-saw battle with Quantar pilots (primarily Ambrosius) lobbing nukes at the building; and a group of pilots from various factions led by GrimGriz attempting to defend and repair the building.

Along the way there was lots of taunting, insulting, challenging and general deriding going on.  There were even a couple ship-to-ship battles.  In the end, the building was destroyed — but that has still not put an end to the debate over whether the building had housed a secret Hyperial GenMod laboratory.

We may never know. Continue reading

Disputed Structure Destroyed

UUNN Newswire

(UUNN HQ)  The long-disputed Phosphorous Nanoproducer in Hyperial Station sector was destroyed in the early hours today.  The structure which was built approximately fifteen years ago, became a center of controversy in 117.6 when Quantar claimed it had received evidence that the building also housed a secret Hyperial GenMod (genetic modificiations) test facility.  The building was severely damaged on 117.7 in a coordinated attack by pilots AmbrosiusCrackheadEismannHammer-BSNereid and Roidrider.  nano assembler

The building remained in that state until 119.2.28 when when several explosions almost destroyed it — which some believed was Quantar retribution for pilot GrimGriz destroying a damaged Duelist factory in Omni IV on the birthday anniversary of former Hyperial President, the late Dr Kelvin Rauder. Equipment Ejected from Station

by Yaz Shanndar

(Hyperial Station) If you happened to be in Hyperial station sector early this morning, you may have seen some shields, power plants, guns and other equipment floating around in space.

“It’s all Quant stuff,” said Renn Torrey, the station’s Dockmaster.  “I got the word from up top — ‘dump the stuff.’  Most of it’s crap anyway.  Pretty tired of Quantar’s pompous oppression, so . . . out it goes.”

Torrey said that the only Quantar Equipment left on the station was mining equipment — which would be ‘tolerated’ in limited quantities.

“Tell all the pilots . . . don’t be wastin time haulin in no more Quant stuff,” said Torrey.  “I’ll just dump it out the back door with the rest of the trash.”

Hyperial Rewards Pilots

by Yaz Shanndar

(Hyperial Station)  Hyperial today recognized the efforts of several pilots who worked to repair the damaged building in Hyperial Station sector.  Dr. Viggio Ragne, Hyperial Special Representative for the Office of the President, released the following statement:

“We are elated to be able to recognize four pilots who put aside their daily duties to repair the Phosphorous Nanoproducer that had been attacked by Quantar two years ago, hyperial-duty-ribbonand which had experienced 3 suspicious explosions over the last few days.  We are awarding the Hyperial Duty Ribbon, 20 PR units and 100,000 credits each to pilots GrimGriz, Imorg, Me.1 and OrkaOrka had initially performed repairs on the structure, while GrimGriz, Imorg and Me.1 brought the building back from the brink of collapse after subsequent explosions nearly destroyed it.

“And I must make special mention of Imorg, a Quantar, who risked censure by his own faction and clearly demonstrated that not all Quantar are deceitful and evil.”
