Conflux Expert Hopeful About Recent Data Collection

by Thane Carios

(Cornea Station)  When reports came in about new Conflux infestation activity in Connexion sector, Prof. Athena ShaiDen decided it was time to get some fresh data.

“I have not done any field work in many, many months,” said ShaiDen, the Xenobiology Chairperson at Sutonia College.  “I was done my classes for the day and had some free time, so I loaded up my customized scanning equipment and headed out.”

The Conflux had infested three of the four gates in Connexion:  The Stith, Light Crossroad and Ring View.  It turned out to be very good fortune that the fourth gate, Dark Crossroads, had not been infested. Continue reading

Martius Responds to Ares Prime Claims

UUNN Newswire

(Etruscera, Martius) Consul Cicero Rnenta, Consul for Martius, was quick to respond to the recent statement made by Emperor Venticus of Ares Prime about recent DSS decryptions.

“They’re grasping for legitimacy,” said Consul Rnenta.  “They are taking roughly 100 words that were decrytpted and interpolated from an unverified, badly corrupted DSS and turning it into a claim that our greatest legend originated on Ares.  It’s not even a very well-supported theory let alone something resembling historical facts.  I’m not sure whether that DSS is real history … I’m not sure exactly how old it is … and I’m especially suspect of Solrain dating appearing in something purporting to be Octavius history. Ares Prime Emperor Releases Statement on DSS

UUNN Newswire

(Octavius Core Station) Emperor Venticus has released a statement regarding the DSS that was deciphered roughly two weeks ago, that appeared to refer to early Octavius.

It gratifies us that another bit of the great history of Octavius has been unveiled.  The story fragment on the DSS deciphered by pilot Nafcon tells a story of our very earliest days – around 2700 BT.  While we have no records of the admiral mentioned in this text or the “8th Expedition” – what appears to be clear is that this admiral was instrumental in establishing the beginning of our empire, and he did it here … on Ares Prime.  Our historians believe that pieces of this story may have actually contributed to one of our greatest legends – the legend of the Golden Emperor.

We have already begun negotiations with Dorator Tech to be provided access to any further, related information it may find.  We encourage pilots to search Octavius Shore for DSS, since this is where this particular find was made.

Pilots Rally to Repair Transceiver

UUNN Newswire

(UUNN HQ)  Pilots rallied yesterday to repair the damaged Subspace Transceiver in The Subspace Tansceiver - Narrow CanalNarrow Canal, to try and restore KTRI broadcasts to Solrain pilots.  According to our reports, most of the work was done by four pilots:  hifly, JokeR_GdI, Nafcon and Valmagier.  All four have received the Keval’s Thanks award for their efforts.

Now that the transceiver is fully repaired, TRI Corporation is working on reactivating it to restore broadcasts.  It is still unknown what originally caused the damage to the transceiver.

Sol Pilots are Missing KTRI

by Thane Carios

(Solrain Core Station) Solrain Pilots have been reporting that there is a problem with their KTRI broadcasts while other factions’ pilots have reported no problems whatsoever.

“Well this was expected,” said Tristan Kamihira, TRI Corp. Director of Sector Assets.  “We had the problem a few weeks ago with gibberish being broadcast across the entire KTRI network.  The root of the problem was traced to the damaged Subspace Transceiver in the Narrow Canal.  Until that is repaired, Solrain pilots will not be able to receive KTRI broadcasts.”

TRI Corporation has put out a request that pilots — especially Solrain pilots — help with this repair effort.

The (Unregulated) Update

Yes, I’m late this week.  It has been a slow news week and I was HOPING something interesting would happen.  But alas …

Dorator Signs DSS Agreement with Hyperial
In the not-at-all-surprising category, Dorator Tecnologies R&D signed an agreement with Hyperial late last week, where Dorator will be receiving all DSS and UCs sold by pilots to Hyperial station. Dorator calls it a win-win since Hyperial was not using the artifacts for anything and Dorator will get them for a very attractive price.

Engineers Quietly Leave Amananth
With absolutely no fanfare (and by this I mean they sneaked out), the multi-corporate team that had been working at Amananth to help figure out how to repair the Antiflux CP, has disbanded and been transported back to their respective home spaces.  TRI Corporation officials insist that this does not mean they are giving up.  They simply felt that it was not necessary to be on-site at this point — an felt the team needed to refresh and reboot. The (Unregulated) Update

Engineers Report “No Answers” on Antiflux Factory
Well we finally received a report from the Multi-corporate Engineering Team at Amananth — and the news was not awesome.  While the fact that the engineers are still puzzled after trying a couple of different approaches is a bit concerning, the other part of the report was an absolute BOMB:  “. . .  The explosions on Amananth station apparently destroyed all of the backup data on the Antiflux systems and hardware, and DPDQ does not seem willing or able to reproduce it. . . .”

So that means, if we can’t figure out a way to fix this — no more Antiflux!  Do you think MAYBE we need to throw some more resources at this problem?

Dorator shares a “Freebie”
We’ve known for a while now that Dorator was going into the DSS business.  Over the last 10 days they’ve kicked things off with two DSS purchasing events, and then just a day after the second event, they publicly released the first dataset. Continue reading

Engineers at Amananth Give Report

by Thane Carios

(Amananth) The multi-corporate engineering team that has been at work on the problem of repairing the Antiflux Custom Producer in Amananth for more than two weeks, has released a much-anticipated update on their effort.

“Initially we focused on the data architectures because that’s what DPDQ (the Amananth uunn-bg.jpgAI system) had been doing – trying to correct the CPs own diagnostics system.  If we could have repaired that, the CPs nanos could have completed the repairs with the aid of directed repair beams,” said Chaiss Rivers, one of the team members from Lexxor Intelligence.  “Unfortunately, we were unable to make any progress on that front.  So we decided to look directly at the repair system hardware.  So far, we have been unable get it activated at all – can’t even communicate with it.

“The biggest problem,” continued Rivers, “is that this was a very well-executed sabotage.  The explosions on Amananth station apparently destroyed all of the backup data on the Antiflux systems and hardware, and DPDQ does not seem willing or able to reproduce it.  But we haven’t given up yet”

Pilot Successfully Decrypts Badly Corrupted DSS

UUNN Newswire

Pilot Nafcon was the first to submit a decryption of the DSS code release yesterday by Dorator.

“Just after the Establishment of the colony on Ares in 4093, Adm. Ryne Patten, leading the 8th Expedition, has us a…. control the military …. abolish the colony assembly and declare emperor Octavius. Patten was saying: “The Eight Expedition …. from our little planet ……… a backwater. Our ancestors were pioneers, conquering a new world. WE are the pioneers living that spirit of Ares. We are not scientist or philosoph-men………children of the warrior. Though we are far from home it is the warrior blood that drives us.

Dorator Releases DSS Find

by Thane Carios

(Hyperial Station) Just a day after completing its first public DSS collection efforts, Dorator Technologies R&D is releasing the decryption of one of its DSS.Malkev Dorator II

“First let me say that we are not in the business of doing data recovery and decryption for free,” said Malkev Dorator II,  Sr. Vice President of Operations.  “We have some very big clients willing to pay very well for our services.  But we are willing to do contract work of all types — for individuals, squads, organizations, factions — even other corporations.
