Triune Meeting Security Systems Hacked. Ministry of War Implicates Quantar.

(UUNN HQ)  The Octavius Ministry of War has released the following statement:

An attempt to hack into the security systems for the Triune Meeting on Ares Prime.  It has been determined that the source of this cyber-attack is Quantar in origin.  We believe that the explosion at the Plutonium Factory was used as part of this attack.  With our security systems in a high level of activity, the Quantar hacker was able to find a weakness and attempted to upload a virus into our systems.  Fortunately, the unauthorized systems activity was quickly noticed and blocked.

The Imperial Triune had convened an emergency meeting.

Factory Explosion Determined to be Internal

(Octavius Core)  Yesterday’s explosion at the Plutonium Factory in Octavius Core sector have been determined to come from inside the factory, said TRI Corporation investigators.

Although the Factory and the surrounding area is still to hot for investigators to go in personally, robotic probes were used to shut down the radiation leakages and to provide preliminary evidence pointing strongly toward internal explosion rather than external
attack.

“We think this is pretty clearly an explosion that cane from inside the factory,” said Sagrith Hubri, spokesperson for TRI-IND (Industrial & Business Services), which operated the factory.  “The five individuals who maintained the factory tragically lost their lives, and most of the internal systems monitoring the factory are horribly damaged.  Once we can get people in there we may be able to get more evidence as to what cause the explosion — but that’s going to be a while.”

Little has been heard from Octavius as yet but Carto Hasdrubar, Governor of Octavius Core Station release the following statement:  “We are all shocked and saddened by the explosion at the factory.  Our thoughts are with the families of the five workers who died there — all loyal sons of Octavius who now enjoy the warm embrace of our ancestors.”  He went on to add, “We do not know the cause of this explosion, but all loyal pilots of Octavius are called upon to maintain beacons and to assiduously patrol Octavius space — especially the sectors around Octavius Core — to ensure those who would take advantage of this tragedy have no opportunity to do so.”

Sources indicate that the Triune Meeting will resume tomorrow with significantly heightened security.

Explosions Damage Plutonium Factory in Octavius Core

(Octavius Core)  Earlier today, two sets of explosions were recorded in Octavius Core sector at the Plutonium Factory.  The factory sustained significant damage and there are no known survivors.  It is unknown at this time whether the explosions were the result of an attack or an internal malfunction.

TRI Corp has determined that there is a significant radiation leak coming from the factory, and pilots are encouraged to avoid getting close to it.

The explosions come during the historic meeting of the Octavius Triune — the three Imperial States.  There has been no official word from Octavius, but sources indicate that the meeting is currently in a lockdown as the situation is examined.

Imperial Triune “Meets” on Ares Prime

(Ares Prime) An unannounced and unprecedented meeting of the Imperial Triune began today on Ares Prime, hosted by Emperor Venticus, with Consuls from Martius and Cinatus in attendance and Emperors Septus and Cineon attending by holoconference.

The meeting is being held at The Curia complex in Trivera and includes many ranking members of the Ministries of all three Imperial States.  It is unknown whether Emperor Venticus is attending in-person or by holoconference from his palace.  Although there has been no official announcement or statement, sources within the Ares Prime ministries have confirmed the meeting.

While some have publicly worried that the secretive meeting could be a prelude to Octavius expansionism, sources within Octavius have insisted that the main topics of the historic meeting are economy and defense against the Conflux.

Hugin Takes Speaker’s Chair by Slimmest of Margins

(Wake Station) Election results for Hellion’s seats on the STCC and the incumbent, Imogen Hugin has defeated challenger Engus Ryall by just 1,668,141 votes – a 0.096% margin of victory.  This represents the closest margin of victory in a STCC election since 70 AT when the Solrain legislature was reorganized.

This will be Hugin’s seventh term as Speaker for Hellion, it’s stations and it colonies.

Voter turnout for the election was on the low side with approximately 60% of eligible voters casting a ballot.

Initial Election Tallies Indicate a Tight Race for Hellion Speaker’s Chair

(Wake Station) STCC election results for the Speaker for Hellion are being tallied and initial reports are that the numbers are extremely close with the incumbent Speaker Imogen Hugin holding a slight lead over challenger Engus Ryall, currently the CFO of Tens and Piney Systems.

Hugin has held the Speaker position for six terms since her initial election on 098.  She is best known for her defense of Squad SoLiciDaL during the famine on Cinatus, adroitly refusing to condemn their disruption of aid efforts.

While the votes of Hellion’s 2.9 billion citizens have been officially counted and certified, the process continues for citizens residing in colonies and stations.

The final vote is expected to be announced tomorrow.
