Hello again!  UUNN has been quiet so I thought to myself, “Self … why don’t you make some noise again.”  So here goes …

To Antiflux … or NOT to Antiflux ….

Looks like pilots are back on board (somewhat) with rebuilding the Antiflux CP in Amananth.  Repair of the facility was almost complete about a month ago — and then someone comes in and blows it up. Itookacruisebytocheckitoutandthebasic”skeleton seems to have been completed — 28% according to the mission computer.  According to unconfirmed pilot reports, the CP that had just gone live a month ago used the “old” antiflux recipe — i.e. they could become fairly cheap and plentiful again.

Apparently that was something the folks at PRI-SEC didn’t like.  It will be interesting to see if they try to disrupt things again.

Maybe the pro-antiflux crew should start setting up 24-hour guard duty or something.

Quant Core Organic Foods Processing Shut Down after Contamination Sickens Hundreds

(Quantar Core Station)  Four have died and several hundred more were sickened on Quantar Core — some critically — by contaminated Organic Food from the Quantar Core processing facility.  The outbreak started on 124.1.9 and medical personnel quickly identified Organic Food consumption as the common link.

“Our medical emergency staff was amazing,” said Delphia Neamru, Governor of Quantar Core.  “If it was not for their quick diagnosis, there would have been many more victims.  Processing was shut down and all shipments stopped within an hour of the contamination alert.”

“The contaminant was a neurotoxin derived from ekel venom,” said TRI-Security Commandant Solder Ronin, “so this was clearly an act of sabotage.  Furthermore, D&L records for the period from midnight UTC on 124.1.8 and 00:40 UTC on 124.1.9 were wiped.  And during low-traffic times like those, flight decks are usually empty.  We plan on interviewing the following pilots who were on-duty during that general time period:  Boelling, Flint, Malachite, Nel, Nari and Tork.”

Ekels are enormous predatory sea creatures native to Martius.  Their venom is located in their dorsal fins.  We asked the Office of Empress Iulia Atreus about Ekel venom.  The reply was:

“Her Highness says that Ekels do not surrender their venom very easily . . . so this was an impressive feat of skill, determination and valor.”

Quantar Core is one of the largest exporters of Organic Foods generating approximately 40u per hour. Officials hope processing can be resumed within a week, once investigations are completed and all equipment has been sanitized.

Unrest Breaks Out in Belum After News of Resident’s Execution

(Belum, Martius)  Protests broke out in the town of Belum after residents found out that Titus Valens had been executed at the palace in Etrucera — allegedly for for dereliction of duty.

It is estimated that more than 500 protesters had assembled in the town square, many carrying signs acusing the Empress Iulia of murder.  Most of the proteststers scattered as soon as the ISS (Imperial Security Service) arrived.  The few who remained were quickly arrested and taken away, with one screaming “You work for a murderer . . . a MONSTER! So what’s that make YOU?” as she was roughly shoved into a transport vehicle.

Valens, just shy of his 22nd birthday, had just completed the process of becoming a jump-pilot and had quickly achieved the level of Corporal. He was an only-child.  His family has lived in Belum for more than five generations.

REPORT: Empress Executes Staff Members

(Etruscera, Martius)  Sources say that after flying into a rage, Empress Iulia Atreus personally excuted at least seven members of the Imperial household staff.  It is unknown what sparked the murderous spree and there has been no official word at all from the palace.  The Empress is known to have ordered summary executions in the past for invididuals who crossed her but this is the first report of her personally carrying out an execution.

Martius Refuses Ministry Rotation

(Etruscera, Martius)  The office of Consul Caelina Arsann announced today that Martius will not cooperate with the traditional 7th-year Ministry rotation this year.  “We have no interest in Trade.  We have no interest in Culture.  We are WAR.  We will remain WAR.  Because we are warriors … and nothing else.”

Since 100AT the three Octavius planets have agreed to share ministerial duties and to reshuffthe them every year.  Since 114, Ares Prime managed the Ministry of Culture, Cinatus managed the Ministry of Trade and Martius managed the Ministry of War.

Since 119 when Empress Iulia usurped power, there has been been little communiction or cooperation from Martius.

Requests for comment from Ares Prime and Cinatus have received no response.

The New Empress Speaks Out

The Atreus line has returned to Martius and the Atticus usurpers from Ares Prime have finally been wiped away.  Septus is dead.  Aqilus is dead.  Rnenta is dead.

I have sent word through the Legatio to Cina that Septus’ crazy dog Zarkwon needs to be returned to us.  And the museum and statue of the usurper who murdered my ancestor have been destroyed.  The slate is clean.

I reach out to Venticus and Cineon to join with me in finding a way to make Octavius the empire it was meant to be.  For many years, we have been held back – first by by TRI and then by internal squabbling.  It’s time for a new way.

Sources on Ares Prime indicate that there may be concern about the lineage claimed by the Empress, and that this would clearly need to be verified.  The last Atreus Emperor was Marcelus I, who died (executed by Atticus VI) over 160 years ago.  He had one son and two daughters.

The stance of Cinatus is unknown at this time.

New Leader Emerges on Martius

(Danubia, Martius)  After two days of silence and uncertainty, Iulia (pronounced: eye-OOO-lee-ah) Atreus has emerged as the leader of the coup that displaced Atticus Aqilus, the interim Consul on Martius.  Although there has been no official statement, she is allegedly taking the title “Empress “ based on her direct relationship to Marcelus I (Marcelus Atreus) – the last “non-Atticus” emperor of Martius who was executed in 45BT when Atticus VI took the united thrones of Octavius.

At age 27 Iulia is the same age as Emperor Venticus when he took the throne on Ares Prime in 115.  Etruscera is still locked-down and it is unknown how she gained control of the Imperial Guard.  There has been no official word from either Ares Prime or Cinatus endorsing or denouncing the coup.

(Great Pillars) After initial reports of a widespread power outage in Etruscera, the capital city of Martius, we now understand that there has also been a complete lock-down and news blackout in the city.  Although there have been rumours that the virus released on Ares Prime by former-Emperor Septus is the cause of the current lock-down, nothing has been confirmed.

Riots Break Out on Ares Prime

(Octavius Core Station) Massive rioting and a number of sporadic rioter conflicts have been seen across all of the major cities on Ares Prime, with the largest and most severe ones being in Trivera and Eiro — where groups promoting all-out war against Martius have clashed with protesters calling for an end to Imperial rule.  More than 50 fatalities have been reported so far, with over seven hundred injuries.

Other smaller groups have had more peaceful protests centering around issues such as the recent skyrocketing price of Baby Bitz(tm) and the long-running complaints about the ‘Nix hitbox.
