(Octavius Core Station) Massive rioting and a number of sporadic rioter conflicts have been seen across all of the major cities on Ares Prime, with the largest and most severe ones being in Trivera and Eiro — where groups promoting all-out war against Martius have clashed with protesters calling for an end to Imperial rule. More than 50 fatalities have been reported so far, with over seven hundred injuries.
Other smaller groups have had more peaceful protests centering around issues such as the recent skyrocketing price of Baby Bitz(tm) and the long-running complaints about the ‘Nix hitbox.

(Ares Prime) An unknown type of deadly hemorrhagic fever virus has swept like a wave over the capital city and it’s population of 11.9 million. The Imperial Health Ministry has now declared it to be an epidemic, with more than five hundred fatalities reported.
Reports are that Emperor Venticus and his retinue have been evacuated to an unknown location. All transportation in or out of the city has been shut down.
Additional detail will be provided once it becomes available.

(Octavius Core) Octavius Core Station sustained fairly significant damage today when it was attacked by Conflux drones and sentients.
“The attack started around 22:00 when we received alerts that some of the outbuildings were being hit,” said Oct Core Station Governor Hasdrubar Carto. “Then there were several direct nuke-hits on the station. Our sensors showed quite a few conflux in-sector, including C0s, 3s, 7s, 14s — and probably others. There were a lot.”
“One C14 was doing something at the energy transfer port. I don’t think it was able to damage anything, but we have crews out inspecting the port right now. It’s a good thing Axiomoon and Utanmadan showed up when they did. I think things could have been much worse.”
According to Carto, the damage was limited to some external armor and one cargo bay, which took a direct nuke hit. That bay had contained BCUs, Dreams, Featherfires, Flashfires, Lances, Mauls, Nitrogen and POS Markets.
“I don’t mean to downplay the loss,” said Governor Carto. “But it could have been much worse. Most of these things can be replaced easily.”
(UUNN HQ) This morning, Emperor Venticus released the following statement regarding the Octavius Feast of the Fallen holiday, which begins 118.5.25 and runs through 118.5.26.
Tomorrow we begin the Feast of the Fallen, our High Holiday. Some have asked why we have not had announcements and scheduled contests. But to me our Feast of the Fallen is not a party. It is not a time for games. This is the time when we of Octavius remember our ancestors … our heroes … because it is they who make us what we are. And through our honoring and remembering our roots we become stronger in our understanding of what it mean to be Octavius. It prepares us to become what WE will be. So as time passes, there can be more great memories to recall on the Day of Remembrance.
True sons and daughters of Octavius know how to properly celebrate this sacred time without the need for published events. A Day of Remembrance; a Day of Battle; a Day of Feasting. I urge all to experience each of these days to their fullest. And in a way that will make our honored heroes and ancestors proud!

(UUNN HQ) There has been absolutely no word about plans for the Octavius Feast of the Fallen which begins in just two days on 118.5.25. If the normal cycle was followed, Ares Prime would be hosting and Emperor Venticus would be the official host. Venticus also currently oversees the Octavius Ministry of Culture — which has not responded to our queries.
The last time Ares Prime hosted the Feast of the Fallen, Clements IV was assassinated during the Recitation of Heroes ceremony.
(Danubia, Martius) An assassination attempt yesterday morning on Atticus Aqilus — who is Supreme Military Strategist for Octavius, as well as nephew of Emperor Septus and potential heir to the throne — was unsuccessful.
Aqilus and a few close friends were hunting in the mountains of Umbrii at approximately 07:00 when two shots were fired by an apparent sniper. The first shot grazed Marcus Digitus, a friend of Aqilus; the second killed a Praetorian Guard identified only as Kasius, who had moved to protect Aqilus.
A man-hunt for the assassin has been under way since yesterday, but the rugged terrain and a storm front moving in has hampered the efforts.
