(Cina, Cinatus) Consul Nestro Zagabi announced today that the DSS that was recently found in Amananth space (The Split), and had its data recovered and decrypted by Quantar pilots, will be returned to Cinatus – the birthplace of the Octavius hero Enkido Kahn.
“This DSS is an Imperial treasure,” said Zagabi. “It contained the log entry from one of our great modern heroes, just weeks before one of his greatest accomplishments. We are arranging to have the DSS delivered to Emperor Cineon this Saturday (116.3.19). The Emperor will be personally receiving the DSS and speaking to the pilots who discovered it and recovered its precious message.”
“Emperor Cineon has also made the unprecedented decision to immediately present the Emperor’s Emissary award (which is usually only presented during the Feast of the Fallen holiday) to pilots Hammer-BS and Jalil – both for making this unparalleled find, and for being so accommodating and generous in returning it to us. We welcome anyone who would like to join in Outpost Station sector us in celebrating this great find, and in honoring these two pilots who have made this all possible.”
Emperor Cineon is expected to be arriving at Outpost station around 16:00 UTC with the transfer of the artifact shortly afterwards. The presentation of the Emperor’s Emissary awards will take place outside Outpost Station after the DSS has been transferred and the Emperor has had a chance to speak privately with Hammer-BS and Jalil.
(UUNN HQ) TRI Corporation has announced a new program that rewards pilots who tune and hold beacons for a full 25 cycles. “Everyone has suffered by the lack of pilot motivation to tune beacons,” said Tristan Kamihira, Director of TRI-GATE. “Beacons have gone un-tuned and unmaintained for extensive stretches of time for the past year or so. This means a lot more maintenance work for us, and a lot more danger to the pilots.”
TRI has created a variety of awards:
Beacon Cumulative Count Awards
Awarded pilots who have tuned and held* a total of 500 beacons
Awarded pilots who have tuned and held* a total of 5,000 beacons
Awarded pilots who have tuned and held* a total of 15,000 beacons
Region-Tuning Awards (These can only be earned once)
Awarded to pilots who tune and hold* ALL sectors in Solrain space
Awarded to pilots who tune and hold* ALL sectors in Octavius space
Awarded to pilots who tune and hold* ALL sectors in Quantar space
Awarded to pilots who tune and hold* ALL sectors in Hyperial space
Awarded to pilots who tune and hold* ALL sectors in Amananth space
Awarded to pilots who tune and hold* ALL sectors in Unregulated space
* “Hold” means that the beacon must remain tuned (and not flipped or re-tuned by another pilot) for 25 consecutive cycles (2.5 hours).
Solrain, Octavius, Quantar and Hyperial have all lodged formal protests with TRI Corp saying that it has exceeded its authority and is interfering with factional sovereignty. “We will vigorously defend our space and our beacons,” said Consul Nestro Zagabi of Cinatus. “And we will deal with TRI as well.”
Not even a full-day into the new awards system, witnesses have reported a number of battle markers across space.
(CINA, CINATUS) Speaker Nestro Zagabi lifted a weeks-long news blackout on Cinatus long enough today to make public an announcement on the state of the grain crisis. Speaker Zagabi made a statement that sufficient supplies have now reached Cinal Spaceport from abroad to fend off a famine for the next quarter-year. General shortages remain, but seed grain has also been delivered, and is being sowed at once where the season is appropriate. In addition, Speaker Zagabi expressed the Emperor’s gratitude to the pilots who chose to render aid, saying, “Emperor Cineon has asked me to convey his appreciation to the pilots who chose to answer his call. Cinatus will remember those who aided us in our time of need. Cinatus will also not forget there were those who chose otherwise.”
Cina and other major population centers remain under martial law and curfew at the orders of Emperor Cineon, though activity on the streets of all cities have appeared essentially normal for some weeks. There remains no formal reaction from either Emperor Cineon or the central Octavian government on Ares Prime to Academician Dr. Basileus Lignius’ publication of findings indicating the blight virus may have been a modification of a microbe from Kapenja, a Quantar world. Quantar officials from Kapenja have categorically denied any involvement.
