Jammer Prices Crash

by Thane Carios

(Solrain Core Station)  In the wake of yesterdays accusations by STCC Speaker, Arbin Mallow, Jammer prices have crashed, falling over 80%, and and production was temporarily shut down.

Lexxor Intelligence released the following statement from its CEO, Dr. Danson Da’Mayo:

In the wake of yesterday’s allegations, Lexxor decided to immediately shut down production of the Jammer ECM.  We are in the business of marketing excellent Jammertechnology and would not want our reputation or our products reputations marred by criminal misuse.

While we have once again opened the production facilities, we are carefully evaluating the future of the Jammer — especially now that its prices has fallen to levels where we would lose money on each item produced.

The (Unregulated) Update

unregulated-updateVol. II, No. 5 – by Ares Kiden

Martius in the News

About a month ago, Emperor Septus named his nephew as the new Supreme Military Strategist — which was surprising only in that it took so long for him to boot Ares Prime’s Petillius Lucanus out.  Then, last week, a sniper took shots at Aqilus’ hunting party, killing a Praetorian identified as “Kasius” — who it turns out was Kasius Faust, the Emperor’s personal guard.

And while it seems unconnected Aqilus, Martius also announced a vague partnership with Hyperial.  I have yet to find out what that is all about. Continue reading

Garreth Takes Office

by Yaz Shanndar

(Solrain Core)  In 085 a 28-year-old Demeter Garreth was elected Speaker for Soria.   Today, at age 60, she took over as Premier, replacing the retiring Cristofore Parce, who made the following statement at the transition ceremony:

Today, with mixed emotions, I leave this great office.  It has been my honor to lead the STCC for 20 years.  Since that time, we’ve faced our fair share of challenges, and come through them stronger. That’s because we have never let go of a belief that has guided us ever since the inception of the Reconstruction Initiative — our conviction that, together, we can change anything and everything . . . for the better.

I have great confidence in Premier Garreth’s abilities as a leader — which she has demonstrated over and over. And it gives me great comfort in transferring this Office to her.

Some believed that Garreth, who is turning 61 shortly, may retire from political office at the end of her current Speaker’s term in two months.  When asked about that, she replied:  “To be honest, I had not decided.  I certainly have not been campaigning the way I had in the past at this time.  But when this entirely new challenge was presented . . . well, this old girl just loves new challenges.”

Garreth Selected as Next STCC Premier

UUNN Newswire

(Solrain Core) According to sources within the STCC, 10-term Speaker Demeter Garreth will be moving her office “down the hall” as she takes over her new role as Premier of the STCC effective 118.5.1.

Garreth’s selection has been speculated-upon for the last week — with many wondering if she was even interested in the job.  Until the upcoming election on 7.1, the role of Speaker for Soria will be temporarily filled by Garreth’s First Assistant, Aeolsah Radic.

An official release from the STCC is expected shortly.

Garreth Rumored to be Leading Choice for Premier

UUNN Newswire

(UUNN HQ) Sources within the STCC have indicated that Demeter Garreth has been the leading candidate to replace the retiring Cristofore Parce as Premier.  Garreth has served as the Speaker for Soria for 10 terms and would be up for re-election in two months.

It is not known whether Garreth actually wants the position, since in some ways, the Speaker holds more political power.  The Council will need to finalize its decision soon, as Parce leaves office in just 11 days.
