(UUNN HQ) The STCC today voted overwhelmingly to leave pilot GrimGriz’s induction in-place — nullifying the executive order of Premier Demeter Garreth. Arbin Mallow, the Speaker for Soria said, “We understand why Premier Garreth did what she did, but in this case GrimGriz was voted into the Hall of Fame by the people — and Premier Garreth, as an appointed official — does not have the power to circumvent the will of the people.”
“But this is a bitter pill to swallow,” added Mallow. “The recent actions and political tendencies of pilot GrimGriz is certainly not consistent with our expectations of a hall-of-famer.”
(Quantar Core) A Quantar-sponsored mission to rebuild the RB-2 facility began unexpectedly this morning:
The Tahirs have called for an emergency mission to rebuild the RB-2 factory that was destroyed by Hyperial terrorists. Please be aware that members of Edwin Reece Industries are Hyperialist terrorists and should be considered enemies of all.
The rebuilding effort is expected to take quite a while given the few number of active pilots these days and the complexities of the construction.
Although Quantar has laid the blame squarely on Edgar Reece Industries, E.R.I. has suggested that the attack was the coordinated work of a rogue employee and a member of Quantar squad The Brotherhood, releasing the following interrogation transcript.
Sources have also indicated that Solrain Premier Demeter Garreth and E.R.I. foundar Edgar Reece will be meeting on Cornea Station on 120.7.21 sometime around 20:00 UTC.
Hyperial was asked for a statement regarding the attack on Quantar. They declined to make a formal statement and simply replied: “It’s such a shame.”
(Solrain Core) Pilot GrimGriz of Edgar Reece Industries today attacked and destroyed the damaged RB-2 factory in Quantar Core sector with minimal resistance.
“He’s a Hyperial terrorist,” said First Tahir Pejia Neamru. “And this attack was not on Quantar — it was on ALL of the civilized factions who need this important equipment for maintenance and repair.”
While GrimGriz took credit for destroying the facility, he did not indicate why he chose that particular target rather than something more specifically-vital to Quantar..
The Office of Solrain Premier Demeter Garreth released the following statement:
We are all saddened and angered by the acts of this troubled individual. Not only because he is a Solrain citizen — but because we just conferred one of our high honors upon him. We are embarrassed in the extreme. This irenegade also had the impudence to contact our just-elected Speaker, Ms. Duvazaco, and infer her involvement.
This last act moved Mr. Grim’s behavior from being obnoxious and embarrassing — to being an affrobnt to Solrain. Because of the seriousness of these circumstances, I am using my authority as Premier to strip pilot GrimGriz of both is Solrain political standing and his place in our Hall of Fame.
The Premier would not say whether other employees of E.R.I would be receiving any censure, but a staffer who asked not to be identified heard Garreth yelling: “Where’s Reece. I want his ass sitting in my office tomorrow or there will be hell to pay!”
(Solrain Core Station) In the wake of yesterdays accusations by STCC Speaker, Arbin Mallow, Jammer prices have crashed, falling over 80%, and and production was temporarily shut down.
Lexxor Intelligence released the following statement from its CEO, Dr. Danson Da’Mayo:
In the wake of yesterday’s allegations, Lexxor decided to immediately shut down production of the Jammer ECM. We are in the business of marketing excellent technology and would not want our reputation or our products reputations marred by criminal misuse.
While we have once again opened the production facilities, we are carefully evaluating the future of the Jammer — especially now that its prices has fallen to levels where we would lose money on each item produced.
At the risk of annoying my colleague (and editors), I think Thane may be having a slow news month. Meetings between Faction Leaders (Garreth), Bankers (Prescott) and Corporate Execs (Dorator) don’t seem to be a very big deal to me. If these kinds of people didn’t have meetings, what else would they do with their time?
Do You Have Questions About Great Collapse?
There’s a guy over on this channel who seems to be suggesting there may be some facts about The Great Collapse that have been buried for some reason. I always accepted that the extended dark age in the aftermath of the event is the reason we have so little understanding. Any other conspiracy theorists out there?
What’s Going on With Prosthetics?
I don’t understand what is going on with Prosthetics. They were declared contraband years ago, but there is still a black market for some reason and my sources tell me they are selling for over 4.2 million credits to the right buyers. Who is buying these and why?
(Solrain Core) Sources revealed today that a meeting is planned on Solrain Core Station between STCC Premier Demeter Garreth, Elden Prescott III (Chairman Emeritus of Sorian Bancorp) and Malkev Dorator, Founder of Dorator Technologies R&D. The Premier’s office refused comment when asked about the date and time of the meeting or its purpose.
Oct Core was attacked by Conflux on 7.5 with the station sustaining some minor damage. Apparently the Conflux attacked outbuildings first, but there has been not official report on any damage there. They also attacked the station and were trying to do something at the ETP. This was the largest station attack we have seen in quite some time. You have to wonder if this was random or if Flux aggression will be ramping up.
For the first time in a very long time we’ve been hearing from the Amananth Station AI (aka DPDQ). First in relation to repairing the production for the “inhibitor” (aka antiflux); and later when it apparently scolded RazorsKiss for having someone blow up an old New Dawn area in the station. The messages were transmitted in hex — which just seems lazy to me. Continue reading →
(Solrain Core) Premier Demeter Garreth announced today that the STCC has decided to establish a new Reconstruction Days holiday tradition. Each year, they will open up a poll to name a Solrain pilot — past or present — to the Solrain Hall of Fame.
“We have had so many pilots making contributions of all kinds,” said Garreth. “It’s time we put their names in lights.”
The poll is OPEN NOW so the STCC encourages you to log in and record your vote by clicking the image below.
“All you do is go to the poll, enter your vote and enter your call-sign. It takes about 30 seconds,” said Premier Garreth. “And while the nominee must be Solrain, ANY pilot for ANY faction is welcome to register a vote!” she added.
The poll will be open through midnight on Sunday 118.7.8.
(Solrain Core) The STCC has announced that Arbin Mallow, the long-time member of the STCC, has won the race for Speaker for Soria by a wide margin, taking 67% of the vote with an extremely-light voter turnout.
Mallow, who has been a member of the STCC since 086, ran a very quiet campaign riding the strength of his substantial connections and political capitol to victory over Aeolsah Radic — the long time aide to Demeter Garreth who was named interim Speaker when Garreth took over as Premier on 6.1.
(UUNN HQ) The polls are now open for Citizens of Solrain to elect a new Speaker for the planet Soria:
Although Aeolsah Radic is technically the incumbent, since he has held the post since Demeter Garreth took over as Premier on 118.5.1, Mallow is a long-time STCC Member with extremely strong political ties.
