(UUNN HQ) The STCC today voted overwhelmingly to leave pilot GrimGriz’s induction in-place — nullifying the executive order of Premier Demeter Garreth. Arbin Mallow, the Speaker for Soria said, “We understand why Premier Garreth did what she did, but in this case GrimGriz was voted into the Hall of Fame by the people — and Premier Garreth, as an appointed official — does not have the power to circumvent the will of the people.”
“But this is a bitter pill to swallow,” added Mallow. “The recent actions and political tendencies of pilot GrimGriz is certainly not consistent with our expectations of a hall-of-famer.”
(Halicon, Soria) Arbin Mallow, the Speaker for Soria has called for an investigation into the recent surge in Jammer production and distribution. His his address to the STCC suggested possible illegal activity.
“Just four months ago, almost all Jammers were suddenly recalled by Lexxor. There were almost none on the market. But now, Hyperial has been cranking them out continuously and market across space are absolutely full.
“No one uses these things anymore. So why the production flurry?
“Well I think it’s a massive money-laundering scheme sponsored by Hyperial, and someone needs to take a hard look at what’s going on! Some of my colleagues tell me it’s just free trade and that STCC should support all free trade. But I think we need to shine a very bright light on this thing. At the very least, it’s as massive waste of Electronics, Molybdenum and RF Transceivers.”
Hyperial officials did not respond to our requests for a comment, but Lexxor spokesperson Mnr Ojazar said, “We were as surprised at the sudden demand for Jammers as Mr. Mallow, but we’ve just been responding to that demand. Nothing more or less.”
Oct Core was attacked by Conflux on 7.5 with the station sustaining some minor damage. Apparently the Conflux attacked outbuildings first, but there has been not official report on any damage there. They also attacked the station and were trying to do something at the ETP. This was the largest station attack we have seen in quite some time. You have to wonder if this was random or if Flux aggression will be ramping up.
For the first time in a very long time we’ve been hearing from the Amananth Station AI (aka DPDQ). First in relation to repairing the production for the “inhibitor” (aka antiflux); and later when it apparently scolded RazorsKiss for having someone blow up an old New Dawn area in the station. The messages were transmitted in hex — which just seems lazy to me. Continue reading →
(Solrain Core) The STCC has announced that Arbin Mallow, the long-time member of the STCC, has won the race for Speaker for Soria by a wide margin, taking 67% of the vote with an extremely-light voter turnout.
Mallow, who has been a member of the STCC since 086, ran a very quiet campaign riding the strength of his substantial connections and political capitol to victory over Aeolsah Radic — the long time aide to Demeter Garreth who was named interim Speaker when Garreth took over as Premier on 6.1.
(UUNN HQ) The polls are now open for Citizens of Solrain to elect a new Speaker for the planet Soria:
Although Aeolsah Radic is technically the incumbent, since he has held the post since Demeter Garreth took over as Premier on 118.5.1, Mallow is a long-time STCC Member with extremely strong political ties.
SOLRAIN CORE – TRI executives and partisans have been shaken by reports that a group calling itself “Cruentus Legio” has splintered from Octavian Escort Command and begun open attacks on Solrain shipping in a direct effort to provoke a factional war.
Cruentus Legio – meaning “Bloody Legion” in an archaic Octavian dialect – has been blamed for recent destruction of Solrain traffic in Tranquillus Minor sector as well as a present blockade at Solrain Core. Its goals appear to be related to impeding continuance of construction work by Solrain on TRI-supported station enhancements. There have been claims that Cruentus Legio has blamed its parent organization, OEC, for appeasement and other crimes against the Octavian Empire — for a “failure” to fully support efforts to revive the Empire by attacking its “enemies” directly.
