Vol. II, No. 5 – by Ares Kiden
Martius in the News
About a month ago, Emperor Septus named his nephew as the new Supreme Military Strategist — which was surprising only in that it took so long for him to boot Ares Prime’s Petillius Lucanus out. Then, last week, a sniper took shots at Aqilus’ hunting party, killing a Praetorian identified as “Kasius” — who it turns out was Kasius Faust, the Emperor’s personal guard.
And while it seems unconnected Aqilus, Martius also announced a vague partnership with Hyperial. I have yet to find out what that is all about.
So that’s what’s going on with Martius. I guess everyone is asleep on Ares Prime and Cinatus.
Garreth Jumps into New Role
Some people speculated that Demeter Garreth would decide not to run for Soria’s Speaker’s chair for an eleventh time this year. They were right. She became Premier instead. You go, girl!
Well what started as accounting irregularities obviously became something much larger, as Annihilitech — make of the popular Featherfire ion cannon — abruptly shut its doors last week. The announcement also disclosed that Markos Theran, the former CFO, has a warrant out for his arrest.
4.30 came and went … quietly this year. No fanfare our announcements. No processions, prognostications or proclamations. And in your eyes I can see the question . . . “4.30?” Six years ago, on 112.4.30, we all experienced “The Catstrophe.” I guess it really is fading from memory.
